Charleton
Heston
Charleton Heston was photographed in the late Eighties for a cover
story in Los Angeles magazine about Hollywood power brokers. The
lightning bolts speak to Heston's stereotypical, on-screen portrayals of
characters with powers of Biblical proportion. I suppose that if this
portrait had been made later on, after he had been hired by the National
Rifle Association, I would have had him hoisting two AK-47s above his
head.
Hasselblad 500CM with 100mm Sonnar lens;
Balcar strobes inside a large aluminum and plexiglass softbank; T-max
100. (Ektachrome EPN 100 was shot for the cover.)
